I'm looking for a list of the things on olinuxinos that would make it "not FSF endorsed" as hardware ?
I know the overal concept is open hardware, but what about the part that ain't ?
But the fact olimex is hosting his .iso on Google (:s), or the fact it uses 7z on them (:s), preinstalled non-free drivers (wifi)... What's more ?
7z is a free format.
the usb wifi dongles depend on a non-free blob (firmware)
allwinner a*0 socs don't need non-free bits but for booting off nand flash. graphics and video acceleration have been fully reverse engineered. allwinner have been very supportive. have a look on the discussions (particularly lukes posts) of socs on http://lists.phcomp.co.uk/mailman/listinfo/arm-netbook
if what you really want is hardware & software from someone who subscribes to the software freedom, hardware freedom philosophy, not open source - where non-free bits are ok, thats also not a typical dev board. something way more than that, then have a look at http://rhombus-tech.net and it's mailing list (arm-netbook). dig deep for info & understanding
Well. Big fail on .7z, I did a confusion with rar.
So my biggest disapointement stay the use of googledrive in stead of a simple magnet. :p
Interesting links though, thanks !
