Hi,
I am able to boot the A13 with Debian and WiFi working, but have two issues, which i've had no luck resolving.
# uname -a
Linux debian 3.4.12+ #5 PREEMPT Wed Nov 21 23:52:19 GMT 2012 armv7l GNU/Linux
1) I can't halt or reboot the device, using either command results in the following error being repeated indefinitely on the console.
[15578.560000] >>> no handle, treat it handle over
<3>>>> no handle, treat it handle over
[15578.560000] >>> no handle, treat it handle over
<3>>>> no handle, treat it handle over
[15578.560000] >>> no handle, treat it handle over
<3>>>> no handle, treat it handle over
[15578.560000] >>> no handle, treat it handle over
2) Duplicated messages on the console
Following the section below of the boot sequence all messages are duplicated on the console, alternating between the [x.xxxx] prefix and then <y> prefix. Any idea why?
[ 0.440000] [uart]: used uart info.: 0x02
[ 0.450000] sunxi-uart.1: ttyS0 at MMIO 0x1c28400 (irq = 2) is a U6_16550A
<6>console [ttyS0] enabled
[ 0.470000] console [ttyS0] enabled
[uart]: serial probe 1, membase (null) irq 2 mapbase 0x01c28400
[ 0.480000] [uart]: serial probe 1, membase (null) irq 2 mapbase 0x01c28400
<6>brd: module loaded
[ 0.490000] brd: module loaded

Kind Regards, Reuben
I have exactly the same problem.
I'm using A13-Wifi through USB/FTDI connected to UEXT.
When I try to shutdown "shutdown -h now" :
" >>> no handle, treat it handle over" messages are spamming the console.
I use Putty on Windows through 115200 baud connection.
Anyone can help us ?
I can't even get a console. I tried UEXT and now I just tried soldering on 4 wires to the UART1 to a breadboard to try to get a putty console. I installed the drivers numerous times but putty can't connect to any com port 1 through 5. any ideas?
Not sure if there's been any progress on this front, but I'm guessing you followed instructions listed here?:

I was able to reboot on the image provided by olimex, but cannot reboot on those instructions - of course, running debian seems to be much more stable on Anton's image than on the provided one. Rebooting is kind of a show stopper, though.

Problem solved, I've posted the solution here:
