Hello,
Is it safe to get about 50mA of 48V from Spare1/2 pins where the TVS is? I'm trying to avoid having a another DC/DC for my 48V sensor. Any suggestions?

It is really bad idea. This will affect the auto negation between the PoE power source and the PoE extractor. I would not recommend it.

Bad ideas is my super power! Thanks for your input. I will use a boost converter instead.
