Title: Using A13 MICRO without USB HUB, keyboard and monitor
Post by: gintaras_bar on February 24, 2013, 05:35:05 PM
If you want to connect USB device to the A13 MICRO without USB HUB, you can use smaller USB OTG connector for that purpose. All you need is just a special USB OTG cable for the smartphone.

As I don't have such cable at the moment, I made it in a slightly different way:

- I have soldered two Female USB connectors together, reversed by 180 degrees

- inserted U shaped wire jumper in to the board connector, to shorten pins 5 and 4 together

- connected USB to Ethernet adapter to the A13 MICRO board using USB Female-Female and standard USB A to USB mini cable

Now I can ssh (be aware, that by default it uses non standard port - 22122) to the A13 MICRO and use it without keyboard and monitor also.

Do you tried to connect directly to the USB host connector? Did not work? If not, watch here https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/linux-sunxi/_J3fYLeZpjw (https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/linux-sunxi/_J3fYLeZpjw) to wait for a solution.

Yes, of course, and it didn't worked :) I had to use USB HUB. If you need to connect several USB devices, there is no other choice. But in my case I need USB to Ethernet adapter only.

But any way, thank you for the link, I will keep my eye on that discussion.
