I flashed the new image onto a SD card, which claimed to be able to decode video with hardware acceleration.

If I click the video under the Xwindow desktop, I can see that the cpu usage if very low when playing video (around 10%). However, if I try to play video in console, whatever command I have tried, it either won't work or still be not hardware accelerated.

Have anybody succeeded with this? Thanks...

Most types of video acceleration works in X Windows only, the console is (for most programs) seen just as a dumb framebuffer. The only program, AFAIK, which does some kind of video acceleration without X Windows, is MPlayer's cvidix output, but it's PC-specific thing, it needs root privileges and does roughly the same things as XVideo.
