Over eating

Using the USB or External (+5.0vdc) the Zenner diode 1N4736 on This DuinoMite-Mini board is getting very hot.
The board is working OK. Is it normal or should It be changeed?

This is normal. 1N4736 is ok. It is a 1W/6.8V diode.

I finally decided to change the diode. This had for effect to significantly reduce the heat.
