Hello,

First of all sorry if it explain in some place but I don't find any info about it.

I try to use the MOD-WIFI-RTL8188 in one A20board with debian release 5, but I don't have succes.

I uncomment the line of wlan6 in the etc/networks/interface file and rebbot.

But nothing run.

When I put in command line ifconfig -a no wlan interfaces appears only lo etho and tunl0

Ethernet works fine.

I mistake or forgot something?

Any help will be a apreciate.

regards,

alekata

Hi,

I also have issues with MOD RTL8188 on A20 Lime board using Debian release 5.
However, in my case wlan0 is always presented without problems but when i try to connect to wlan0
(either from ifup wlan0 or using NetworkManager) system freeze or crush and CPU gets too (100% cpu usage).
Is there anyone who had successfully make it work ?.

I also tried with RTL8192 dongle with the same disappointing results !

What happens with another OS version?  Doesn't have to be Debian.

If any works you know it's a Debian bug and if it is then reporting here may not really be useful.

I finally make RTL8188 functional with Olimex pre-built image "a20_Lime_debian_3.4.90_release_3"

I also have tried to combine rootfs from 3.14.103 and uImage from 3.14.90 or vice versa but only 3.14.90 original image works in terms of Wi-Fi.

My goal is to find if the problem is in kernel or distribution (rootfs) in order to be able to build kernel with custom configuration.
