A20 10" Touchscreen Libary change

Dear,

Currently im working on a project on the Olimex A20 running the official Debian , In order for the project to run on the olimex we have decided to use a Touchscreen.

Its a fantastic screen and works good, the only notice that we need for the project is that is directly clicks, and does not wait until in is realeasd, this causes that we have to click twice on a button in order to activate is,

I would like to have it in such a way, that when you press the button on the screen it directly is activate , i have tried to change it in the libary of my own program however this did not brought a suitable solution since i do not know if the screen is pressed or not,

It there a way to acces the libary of the Touchscreen and modify this in order to have a direct click when the touchscreen is touched,
