hi everyone
i want to know how STM32-P407 performs actually.i read somewhere that this board is not well built and not good for beginner.because of lot peripherals, it requires lot modifications to be done by user at hardware and things are also not well documented. i want to verify that what i read is correct ?
actually due to lot peripherals available on-board (i want lcd and camera) and good RAM size, i am excited to use it but being beginner i am scared for its complications.also i dont see enough activity on forum for STM32-P407.
i dont want to move to blind end road. please help to choose
i am looking forward to your replies.
thank you all

Abhishek

Hey Abhishek,

Indeed, STM32-P407 is not recommended for beginners since there is heavy multiplexing of signals on the board. Furthermore having a debugger tool with SWD interface is strongly suggested since the JTAG pins are multiplexed with the display.

If you have headed for the STM32F407 processors maybe STM32-E407 or STM32-H407 boards would be a better start for a beginner but both lack LCD and camera. Of course, there are extension displays that might be used via the UEXT connector but would require writing custom firmware.

Both STM32-E407 and STM32-H407 have IAR EW for ARM and Eclipse examples.
